Seven days in Marrakech

Four guided painting days, cultural discovery and genuine time to rest and connect. Painting sessions run 11:00–17:00 with a 45-minute lunch break. Reconnect Journeys confirms final timings before travel.

Day 1 · Arrival

Arrival at Marrakech Airport, transfer to the riad and a welcome dinner together.

Day 2 · Flowers

Watercolour foundations, colour theory, handmade pigment, texture, edges, values and negative painting. Finish with a floral subject; hammam during free time.

Day 3 · Exploration

A local guide leads the group through Marrakech, including the YSL Museum and Ben Youssef Madrasa. Time remains to rest, sketch or explore.

Day 4 · Fruit

Composition, form, light, cast shadow and atmospheric perspective, brought together in a painting of local fruit.

Day 5 · Ornaments

Moroccan decorative rhythm, local colour and surface texture, followed by an atmospheric study of local ceramic plates.

Day 6 · Architecture

Linear and atmospheric perspective, arches, doorways, light and layered space, ending with a painted architectural fragment.

Day 7 · Departure

Breakfast and transfer to Marrakech Airport.

Flowers, fruit, ornament and architecture become starting points for colour, composition and atmosphere. Guided painting days are balanced with a local tour, shared meals, a hammam and time to wander or rest.

Useful details

Is the retreat suitable for beginners?

Yes. Beginners, returning painters and experienced artists are all welcome. Jurga teaches each person at their own level within a small group.

When is the Marrakech retreat?

The retreat runs from 11 to 17 October 2026 and includes six nights in Marrakech.

Are painting materials included?

Yes. Painting materials are included, so you can travel lightly. Reconnect Journeys will confirm the final practical list before departure.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome. Shared painting, meals and excursions make it easy to connect without every moment being scheduled.

What is not included?
